The Day After

New Year's Eve in Germany is marked by everyone going a bit crazy with fireworks. Coming from the UK - where controls are much stricter and people tend to shot the fireworks up in to the sky rather than at each other - it can be a bit of a shock the first time. It also means that the day after, the streets are littered with fireworks debris, so going for a New Year's Day walk can be a bit of an obstacle course.
