Arriving Home

I flew into Christchurch at midnight, got some sleep on my nephew's couch, then was going to do some visiting this morning. But after a quick stop for groceries I decided I just wanted to get home.

By the time I reached Amberley the top was down and I was driving along enjoying the sunshine and the wind in my hair.

By the time I reached the Lewis Pass (150 km later) the top was up, the wipers were slapping and it was 8 deg C. I wouldn't have stopped but the two coffees I'd drunk, one from Belfast and one from Culverden, were taking their toll.

The stop afforded a photo opportunity anyway - albeit one of dull gloomy weather.

Home.

Unpacking done (well groceries brought in and suitcase opened on the bed) and I'm about to settle into my armchair with a blankie and a book, and a cat on my knee.

Great to go away on a trip, but great to get home too - even to lousy weather
(great excuse to snuggle up and relax anyway).
