Polar Vortex.

Snowmageddon.

Chicago being renamed Chi-beria today, thanks to the above-mentioned polar vortex.

The most depressing day of the year. (Yes, the first Monday after the 1st of the year is the most depressing day of the year - who knew?)

These are topics being reported as news today while, meanwhile, all of the region's schools were closed.

I guess I deserved a snow day, too. Not feeling my best I didn't go to work.

When I noticed the sun was out (such a rare occurrence lately!) I got my snowsuit on and went out to snap some photos of the winter scene. The Bay is freezing a bit more each day and the mounds are created by both the non-stop snow, wind and waves.

I will be glad when the week's end arrives and the promise of temperatures in the 30's. I do appreciate the four seasons but this year winter is too much too soon.
