This urban landscape looks more flat than it really is. The city of Nurmes was founded on the ridge and it has a lake on its both sides. In the photo the ridge continues behind the church. The church is the fifth largest and the lake Pielinen is the fourth largest lake in Finland.

Yes...everything else is small and quiet.
