Route 66

Sadly not THE Route 66....but The National Cycle Network Route 66.

This passes through a village called Dunnington near York and last year they had this sculpture made to form part of a floral display. The village won a gold award in the Yorkshire In Bloom campaign and this year will be judged in the national 'Britain In Bloom' competition.

It is looking a bit bare at the moment - but I hope to revisit during the year to see the displays.

I though the bright white frame stood out against the darker trees behind it. I did try to to avoid the bright sky just above the handlebars, but if I moved further to right then a rather unsightly pumping station came into view.
