Before the Rain

It would have been a lovely sunrise but the lie in was good and working late so sleep more important this morning. I did catch the end of it on a walk over Northcliffe on a detour for the paper though. It was a lovely morning and nice to get out when I know I'll be stuck in for the rest of the day. A quick shopping trip before work to buy walking boots for the kids as they are now both old enough to walk a reasonable distance and at the moment enjoy it. Long may that last!

Work was fairly quiet and I feel I have spent too much time there over the holidays doing not very much, so it'll be nice to be working some day shifts next week to be busier and have others to speak to.

I obviously hadn't taken any notice of the weather whilst at work as I was surprised to find there was a few inches of water to splash through to get to the car when I left, then a rain storm on the way home which felt like being in a car wash. We have been fortunate with the weather here though compared to most of the country.
