Mackerel sky

At sunrise the sky was almost clear but then these marvellous clouds formed and for a while the sky looked incredible.  Unfortunately we were soon back to uniform grey by the time we set out for our walk in the forest.

"Mackerel sky, mackerel sky. Never long wet and never long dry,"  so the saying goes.  Well, it was dry for most of the day but it's pouring again now!

Not looking forward to tomorrow as I'll have to take down the rest of our decorations, which always makes the place look so dull and bare I think.  Oh well, roll on Spring!
