The not so magic gemstone

This little blue gem stone has caused a bit a stress today! William decided to put it in his ear. The weird thing was that I just knew this was going to happen and in the Christmas hubbub of gift opening and excitement I did nothing to prevent it. Uncannily, I was busy sorting out some clothes the boys have outgrown, and found William's coat and I was removing the "Uncle Bob's Magic Show" badge from a couple of years ago when William came downstairs to tell me he had a stone in his ear and that it was meant to be a magic trick!!

So a torch, a quick chat with 111 and a trip to A&E later (hello again LGI, my old friend. It's been a while!) and still no sign of the amazing disappearing stone!

I was most pleased when we found the stone in the very place William eventually remembered that it might be and William was adamant that this was indeed the magic stone.

Still, we had an impromptu trip to Leeds Museum and made pancakes for Sunday lunch. All's well that ends well.

Moral: Don't panic! It's not in my ear, it's here!
