The Old Apiary

This little house was used for a colony of bees many years ago and it was decided it would be a good place to store wood.

We took the old hives out - some still had old honeycomb in them (I may blip that another time) and discovered an old wasp nest. Thankfully the nest was empty. I have a phobia about wasps. And then we started to fill it with the wood from the trees that were cut down in the garden. It's a bit like a massive 3-D puzzle.

I helped at the start but because it involved a lot of bending and caused the Mädels a fair amount of worry about my back, I was banished to raking up leaves.

Afterwards we went to Die Sonne - a local restaurant - where we were served the biggest portions of food I've ever had. Completely Stuffed now.
