New Year's Day:

The day started at one minute past twelve. I was in bed and the bedroom was suddenly lit by the fireworks being set off in the centre of the village.

It was a miserable day weather-wise and I didn't feel any better than the weather! Sue surprised me with a new pair of nutcrackers.
