Canada and Oakworth remember
I played the last post and Abide with me at a service today to mark the 70th anniversary of a Canadian plane that crashed during training, with loss of the entire crew.
I've put a compilation together to show some of the dignatories who attended and the general public walking up the very muddy lane to the site of the crash. There was a representative from the Canadian High Commission in London, Brigadier Mathew Overton, Bradford's Lord Mayor, Khadim Hussain, Keighley' Town Mayor, Sally Walker, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of west Yorkshire, Richard Jackson , and many people from the British Legion and locals from Oakworth and further afield.
It was a very cold damp afternoon, but it was, as ever, an honour to be able to play at the ceremony, but believe me the cup of coffee in the Grouse Inn afterwards was very much appreciated.
Update, just made it on to the local ITV news!
