I think this was the last picture of Nico with all her children, taken just before we separated them into boys and girls.

Sexing baby dwarf hamsters isn't the easiest job in the world - in the end we put each baby in a glass bowl with Nico, who we knew to be female, and then played "same or different"! It turned out that there were 3 boys and 2 girls.

Nico continued to live in the Wonderspouse's study until her death in late 2013. One of the boys, Lou Reed, died young, but two others we kept are still going. We rehomed two, and to the best of my knowledge they're still doing well.
