A pink one for today
This is the flower that I wanted to catch before it closed up in the afternoon. It is another Gymnocalycium, G. friderichii. My plant seems to flower freely, but the flowers don't stay open for long. Not a perfect flower, and I'm not quite sure how they get damaged protected as they are in our conservatory.
I did use my tripod, today, but just to photograph this flower. My other photographs today were hand-held as usual. Storm clouds built up over the hills, and I ran down the garden with the camera to catch them while they still looked impressive... maybe after a month's practice, I might think 'tripod', but for this kind of shot I don't think I need it (see one of my pics here).
