Nuts

Day 3 of power problems on the island. The cold temperatures continue and the stress on the electrical system has caused a fire at a major substation followed by extensive blackouts.

These are homemade 'sweet n spicy' nuts made for us by our good friend Basil. During the first outage this morning I took this picture to send to Basil (who also has no electricity) with the caption 'Survival Kit'. They are good comfort food but I'm glad to have a portable generator, a propane fireplace and stove.
