Fireside glow

My poor husband roasted whilst I played around with this shot. I wanted his profile just lit by the flames which meant him being quite close!

I also did a few last shots of the Christmas tree which will be packed away tomorrow. Sad in a way but all good things come to an end and on a very positive note, I booked flights to Spain for September. I know this is a long time away, but it's liberating to be free from the ties of school terms - and the hotel the previous night at Gatwick - I'm sold on this kind of start to a holiday. We're only an hour and a half from Gatwick but the M25 is unpredictable and the hoiday starts with a relaxed meal, comfortable sleep, full breakfast and a leisurely stroll over to the terminal; sure beats that 'stupid o'clock' get up and stess about being on time. Even when we flew from Heathrow recently (only 45 mins away- M25 permitting) I booked a hotel - quite cheap booked well ahead.

I also booked my (solo) flight to Cape Town in February when I plan to visit a friend. I'll have lots of time with me and my camera!
