A good thing to do when the weather is bitter cold
Every January the seed and garden catalogues come flowing in. It's a good time to start planning the garden. Most seeds get too leggy and die before I can plant them so I usually just daydream with the catalogues and perhaps choose what I'll be looking for when the Farmers market starts selling plants.
My son and his family did well with squash and sunflower seeds...I'll let the farmer tend them until the ground is warm enough. Some of the new veggies are purple Brussels sprouts, Good as Gold Tea Rose, little round lemon cucumbers, but I like organic and heirloom varieties. How about you?
