A good day ...
Started today with tea in bed and reading my copy of The i which I get delivered to my iPad. Got annoyed with the critics who were panning Dr Who and Sherlock. They're not meant to be serious programmes you idiots. They're clubs you are either a member of or not, and if you are you get the in-jokes and don't want the stories to have unhappy endings.
Then had the bestest ever vegetarian bacon and egg sandwich thanks in no small part to Mr Christmas and his excellent bread (yes we have a baker in Surrey run by someone called Jack Christmas - and his products are lovely).
Went to see Aged P. Pretty good, the staff were on great form, dancing around the living room singing to a baby that someone had bought in to see Grandma. Lots of jokes and stories. Aged P loved the family picture I had had framed for her.
Went to the local market when I got home, TSM and I loved having time together and got a huge bag of veg for tonight's supper which is the subject of today's blip. This is taken from the superb Comptoir Libanais cookbook. Pictured left to right, pear and haloumi salad, baga ganoush (smoked aubergine dip) and a mousakka unlike the normal variety and rich in tomatoes and tahini. Only thing we bought was the flatbreads. Gorgeous and great fun to cook.
Scout is doing very well apart from his leg which shows little sign of recovery. But he is pretty happy apart from cabin fever, being quite an outdoorsy cat.
Last day of "leisure" tomorrow before going back to work ... But I have plans that will ensure that January is not a depressing month...
