Postcards From Hell!

I decided on a new series - Postcards from Hell - which will show the less attractive side of living in a very rural area during the harsh winter months.

It is easy for us to create a phantom life around each other, especially on various social network sites, like blip! We tend to show mostly the good stuff going on in our lives, which is awesome and then there is sometimes the reality that sometimes things just suck! While i'm not going to go all pessimistic and complaining....not at all, i am absolutely a Glass Half Full person, but i just thought it might be fun (???) and interesting to show the not so 'magical' parts of living in such a 'Winter Wonderland' !

So here is the end result of yesterdays fiasco! We had a terrible storm going on here, over a foot of snow feel in short order, the winds were pretty horrendous and it was about -16! Terry decided to go down to a neighbors driveway and plow it out for him. He had only just begun when the truck got stuck! This was about noon. He and Stemmer (the neighbor) dug and dug, for over 2 hours, at which time they decided to have lunch! Back out again around 3pm and they didn't quit till after 5pm! This is when they decided it wasn't going to budge without major help! So this morning Terry got this chap to come and haul him out of the ditch! Many hours spent, in horrid conditions, and now quite a hefty bill will be in the mail! Yup.....it wasn't pretty!

But on the upside, it has stopped snowing, and i spent a lovely hour in the library chatting with Kate.
