Vampire

This is a de Havilland Vampire on display at the National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts and History. The museum is practically on my sister's doorstep but I haven't been to this one before (the National Museum is split into four sites in Dublin and Mayo). We slept fairly late, so didn't get out and about until mid afternoon and the museum was closing early so we only had time to visit the Soldiers and Chiefs exhibition. It's a brilliant exhibition, covering Irish military history from the 1500's right through to the present. The Vampire was commissioned by the Irish Air Corp in the mid 50's.

After the museum we went home for a quick change before heading out for dinner and drinks to welcome in 2014.
