I began a degree course last year, somewhat late in life. This term I'm studying 'Writing Poetry'. I blipped the light in the cafe where (allegedly) I was doing some preparatory reading for today's class.

Last week, the first week, we were given homework - write a poem from one of four given opening lines, choosing the one that 'leaps off the page'. So I'm kicking off with

I will put on my yellow boots

None of them really inspired me. More cake needed!
