The Monitor Lizard ....

.... is today my portrait of a person :-).

This 2 meter long lizard was sun bathing on the riverside during our long tail boat trip along the river Pranburi, 20 km to the South of Hua Hin, Thailand. We visited also in the mangrove forest walking along wooden walking piers. during our trip we saw white herons, cormorants, some unknown birds, grabs and many lizards swimming in the river. The roots of the mangrove trees are so beautiful and aesthetic impressive.

This Pranburi river is also the home harbour of about 100 big fishing boats.
