A very scratchy foot!

Today's DDW January challenge is "Scratchy". Now I wouldn't want a scratch from this Sparrow Hawk, and I suspect the small birds that come to our feeder feel the same.
This raptor sat on the fence for quite some time, I took a number of shots through the window avoiding too much movement of the vertical blinds in case I scared him away.
I then fumbled about with another camera fitting a 300mm lens only to find the bird had flown.
I had a couple of ideas for the scratchy subject but occasionally an opportunity pops up and it has to be grabbed.
