Marching orders

We're always happy to visit the local Botanic Gardens, and today we had a good excuse. Lieutenants Peter and Rebecca Gott of the Salvation Army are leaving for a new appointment on Monday after three years as Corps officers in Batemans Bay, and were having a farewell picnic lunch at the Gardens with members of the church. The official farewell will come tomorrow when the Gotts lead their last worship service at the Corps hall. They are moving to Sydney to take up a leadership post with responsibility for youth and officer candidates. Bands and music are big in the Salvation Army, and Pete and Becky took the opportunity today to introduce daughter Sophia to the king-size percussion instruments in the Botanic Gardens' children's playground.
