Solstace Sunset

I knew photographer Rick Sammon was running a competition for the best sunset photo taken on the day of the winter solstace. Seeing a sunset looked as though it may happen that afternoon I popped out to get a few shots in of a lonely tree I knew. The sun wasnt placed ideally for the, it was too close to the road.

The shot had to be posted to a particular Google+ page within 2 days of the solstace... I had a bus few days and forgot to enter... So here is the shot backblipped :-)
