Thoughts of a Mummy

Me and my shadow

After pulling an 'all nighter' with the ironing last night (and haven't even got half way yet!), I finally got to bed at 3.30am.

Peach got the girls up and I managed to sleep till 9.30am. As no-one knew I was up, I was spoilt to an uninterrupted shower and a chance to get dressed without the echo's of bickering or interrogation. As a parent to four inquisitive and extremely characteristic girls, it's the simple things in life that are appreciated.

I took the girls to see the New Moshi Monster Movie at the cinema with my friend and her girls. The girls all thoroughly enjoyed themselves; however the movie was definitely not a Disney one. I certainly won't be rushing out to buy that DVD.

We got back and Aj had fallen asleep in the car, I tried in vain to get her in without disturbing her too much, but she'd had a power nap of 15 mins and had no intention of going back to sleep. Instead, as the older three were happily watching tv, Aj helped me box up the empty baby-wipe packets for Ellie's Fund - Brain Tumour Trust. She loved checking the packets to see if they were empty and then putting them in the big box.

We had friends round for dinner - a Friday night fish & chips. Aj was on form as a Gremlin; lack of sleep and now stocked up with food, she was tipping water on her spoon, from her spoon onto her plate and the lifting her plate to drink the water off. She really does provide her own entertainment and believes she can set her own rules - Oh this is going to be fun ;)

The girls were put to bed and I set to my ironing again!!
