Good Wood

Cutting wood is not the kind of thing you would expect me to be doing during this heatwave we are having here. I need it for the wood stove BBQ though. I ran out of bush wood recently and haven't had a chance to get out to cut some more. As luck would have it I have some genuine old hardwood down the side of the house. This stuff comes out of demolished houses and is probably more than 50 years old. And of course, it is untreated.

I burns beautifully although it seems such a waste to turn such beautiful wood to ash. Mind you it was sitting down the side of the house getting in the way.
