Northumberland Beauty

We headed home from Scotland today and the showers became less frequent the further south we drove. As we headed east across the Military Road in Northumberland the hills were bathed in sunshine. This was taken looking south east from Housesteads.

On arriving home it was apparent that an intruder had been in the garden and our neighbour called round to let us know that the previous night a burglar had tried to break in to our house, and three other properties and including her own despite her light being on and him being aware she could see him. All very alarming and quite disconcerting. The police apparently are investigating. Not a particularly pleasant homecoming for the New Year!
