Rainbows and Recipes

Last day of the school holidays, and a day of changeable weather, means it's homework time. J has a topic book, 2 pages of which have to be filled each holiday on a subject that they have been studying at school. This time it is about food and nutrition, that may or may not be a good thing during the most overindulgent season of the year. The tasks always seem a little daunting at first for a 7 year old boy, and it's a challenge to be an encouraging parent and to ensure it's his ideas that are going in and not mine. Thankfully, once we got started, J was enjoying planning his menu for a café, adding some of his favourite meals, and now we are in the process of cooking spicy Mexican bean chilli for dinner. Now hoping for a break in the weather to pop to the shops for some tortillas chips.
