I often forget my camera

Joshua Tree

We came across these beautiful baby Joshua Trees in Red Rock Canyon State Park, just two hours outside Los Angeles, in sunny California.

Red Rock is an amazing park, full of gorgeous sandstone formations, and yes, red rocks. We camped three nights total. I especially love the campground because it's linear, so all the campgrounds have a beautiful backdrop of the wind-whipped sandstone hills, and look out on a field of Joshua trees. Hikes on the sandstone hills have a beautiful view if the surrounding hills, and in the evening, it's spectacular. Those photos will come later. I also love the 70 degree days and 40 degree nights. Perfect for hiking and campfires.

My husband and I come to LA annually to visit his family and we are both thrilled to find such a beautiful camping spot so close by. Shhhh, don't tell anyone about it -- I want to keep it for myself!
