moving on

Dismantling the house room by room
and it struck me that even in this small
group of art there is a story to tell of
our travels and the reoccurring themes
that go with us:
the pineapple from India that is a symbol of
hospitality , but is a painting by a local artist;
the flamingos - I remember from Bahrain,
also painted by a different local artist here in Florida;
the Spencer Tart print depicting an Arab and his camel
breaking camp entitled "Moving On 2", so apt now and
in the all too recent past !
And strangely, the photograph of the bandstand in our
hometown whose city symbol is the star and crescent moon
which is reminiscent of Arab countries also visited.
