I was given a fancy camera for Christmas the reference number of which escapes me. Lest I get it wrong and set off a whole discussion and debate about the merits of that particular model, let's just leave it that it is a canon.

It's wonderful, and I've already taken some pretty special shots on it, so it must be good.

Today however I didn't take it with me when we went for a wee wander round the estate. My lovely husband asked me half way round if I'd brought it with me. "Nah, it's not the right light", I told him, trying hard to sound knowledgeable and confident all at once.

He saw through me. It was wonderful light, as this iPhone shot proves.

The birds were finding their roosts as we got back home. I'm sure we left just after lunch. Either it was a very short day or we took a very long time to walk the 5k circular. In any case it was a good walk and there was some serious tree swinging going on in and around the snapped and collapsed trees which had been brought down by the recent gales.

In other news, I had a bath tonight using my middle son's 'Marvel Superhero Bath Blast' (he was the only one to whom Santa brought bubble bath). It was bright blue and turned the water a sort of greenish colour. Most disconcerting. I might buy some radox tomorrow.
