Albourne Vineyard

Alan went back to work today, and for me it was the first walk of the year with the walking group. Fortunately there was a break in the terrible weather and we woke up to glorious blue skies. Despite the mud it was a lovely walk and we covered about 6.5 miles which took us through Albourne Vineyard and then about 20 of us went for a New Year's lunch at The Ginger Fox. The food and service were excellent and it was a lovely start to the new year.

Once again there were plenty of photo opportunities, but I chose this one as it reminds me of the vineyards in Riquewhir where we stayed last Christmas. I was always very sceptical of English wines, but I was nicely surprised when we tried the Sussex sparkling wines. Although they're can't be classed as champagne, they're very good and I'd certainly recommend them.
