We decided to take our annual trip to Lakeland at Windermere. When we started out the weather was very wet, however as we got to Thirlmere the weather improved.

We arrived checked the waiting time for the "restaurant" and were told "the weathers not bad there is no waiting time" so off up stairs and by the time we got to the please wait to be seated sign the waiting time was 30 minutes! So we booked a table for the 3 of us collected our "vibrating call block thingy" and went back down stairs to begin to look round the shop.

After having wandered around about 1/4 of the shop we were called. The Cafe/restaurant (call it what you will) has a good reputation for its food. Judging by today's offering rightly so. All three of us chose a mixed sea food gratin which was extremely good (it must have been as "The Mother" ate all of hers.

After finishing our look round the shop we started to head for home but promised our selves a coffee at Waterhead Ambleside. Not particularly because of the quality of the coffee but we were short of decent blips! While clickychick was getting the mother out of the car and into the wheel chair I spotted these gulls all nicely lined upon the pier posts. I took a couple of quick shots before we w
