The Glasgow Pavilion

The Pavilion is a theatre with a history spanning more than 100years. Famous names who have stepped on boards include Harry Lauder, Will Fyffe, Sarah Bernhardt &Charlie Chaplin to name just a few. In recent years plays like the Steamie & the Sash have been popular shows. In one of the earlier programmes a dentist advertised 'painless extractions with nitrous oxide for 4/-(20p) or cocaine for 1/-(5p)!
After the first performance in February 1904 the press reported 'a preponderance of ladies & gentlemen of quality in evening dress.
Today it is the panto of Pinocchio and not much evening dress in sight!
