Bejiza - first cyclon to hit us head on in 12 yrs
So the cyclone finally hit us today. We went into red alert at 10 am, meaning that nobody (except rescue services and the press) is allowed in the streets. We were therefore confined at home all day. Dad came back with a set of nice pictures that he put up on Zinfos974 and his crew of journalists also stayed home from lunchtime onwards. This pic is one of our coconut tree that was planted by my gran when we built the house, in 1988. It's swaying dangerously tonight and might be gone tomorrow (our papaya tree is gone). In the background, we usually see the sea, but today, it was all a wall of grey.
We should go back to orange level tomorrow, which means that I'll be able to fly home on Saturday. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about that...
