WHAT'S GOING ON ?

I took this shot at 7.45 this morning, I can't make out what's going on, a starling with it's head inside the nesting box, there is a camera inside the box but not switched on yet, all I can think of is it's either trying to get on film or looking for eggs, what do you think. ?
