Things we take for granted......
As I explained yesterday, I have been house and animal sitting for my daughter and son-in-law.This lad is 10 and is always there- wagging his tail, and has a lovely smile!!(shows his teeth- defintely in delight!!! ).Those of us who have had Labradors know they will eat anything!!!!! I noticed him quite stressed last night as I was putting him to bed....so a long story later, an all night stay at Emergency Vet.Without giving you too many graphic details, this lab nearly died last night!!!Sometime in the past 36hrs he had eaten a BBQ skewer stick (with meat attached.) The skewer went through where it shouldn't!!! He is fine now. I was thinking driving back home how often we take animals(and People) for granted. A jolt for us all..... My son- in -law has had an awful fright.....we need to be careful in future...
