"the swan"

Feeling slightly under the weather today with a sore throat so it was a 'do as little as possible' kind of day!

However, ever the nurse, mum suggested some fresh air this afternoon while the sun was shining - something its been doing very little of with all these storms hanging around! So into the car we got, camera in hand! First stop, the farmer at Mullaghmeen to see if he had had any more new arrivals over Christmas and the answer was yes - 6 little lambs now running around in the 'nursery' field, with one set of triplets!!!

Then to the Watergate in Enniskillen where we watched the Portora rowers practicing out on the lake. Happy to report that they are all looking in great shape for the new season! And then finally to a place called 'The Round O' - a favourite location for feeding ducks! Thanks to 2 little girls doing just this, I was able to get this lovely shot of what is truly a beautiful swan. :) There were also 5 young cygnets who were clearly going through the 'awkward' stage as their grey feathers were slowly turning white!

Tonight I met 2 old school friends. It's only taken us 5 years to be in the same place at the same time but it was as if we'd never been apart. Yes, we've all changed in one way or the other, but there are just some school friends that you never forget and Claire and Stephen are 2 such people! Lots of laughter, memories and catching up - let's not leave it so long the next time! :)

The end of 2013 approaches....
