Another Year Another Amber Alert
Set of from The Veelage in the pouring rain for my traditional New Years day, blow the cobwebs away walk. The amount of rain we have had recently has been spectacular with warnings from the Met. Office every other day for rain here in the South-West of Scotland.
The challenge today would be two-fold, keeping reasonably dry and being being able to get an acceptable looking photo in the bag.
I decided on a drive out to my local dam at Clatteringshaws in the Galloway Forest Park to see how it had been coping with all the recent rain, not very well ! as the water was cascading over the top in a thunderous white wall of water, quite an impressive sight close up.
Did not stay out in the rain for too long but have to admit enjoyed taking in the sights of rain swollen dams and waterfalls but am wishing the Jet Stream would calm down and let us see the sun again.
Still time to wish anyone who comes across this a happy and successful New Year and best wishes for 2014, oh and good luck to all those starting a 365 !
