I Blame Paul Hollywood...

... for any pounds I put on this festive season!

This has been a special day in our household for many years. We have That Best Mate around and sit from 10am until after midnight watching DVDs, eating and drinking and just enjoying life.

Our choice of DVDs are projected 10' wide onto the chimney breast. We so much appreciated The Mother buying us a new projector this Christmas when our old one was declared irrepairable.

Our first choice was "The Hobbit", a book I remember reading as a class novel in junior school. A lot of gruesome bits but a great deal of humour, too, in the script. We reminisced about the year we watched all three Lord of the Rings films ene-to-end. I also enjoyed watching Paul Newman in "Nobody's Fool" a bit of light relief after the blood and thunder in the other films we chose.

So, in providing food during the day, I made this Chocolate Orange Pond Pudding as demonstrated recently on TV by Paul Hollywood.( The orange cooked in the centre is just for flavouring.)
