Smashing day at Waddesdon

Well, actually a very wet day when we visited the Christmas display at Waddesdon Manor. I wasn't able to concentrate on photography as I had my two year old grandson in tow but I couldn't resist trying to get a shot that handled the vast tonal range of this light shade. I got to thinking that if I was really rich, I'd buy sets of crockery and explode them as a quicker alternative to loading and unloading the dishwasher. Would kill two birds with one stone - I'd get some shots to blip whilst avoiding that loathsome task!
Might give it a try anyway - buy some cheap crockery from IKEA and mix up some gunpowder if I can remember the recipe from my younger years. It's all coming back to me; sulphur, carbon etc.
