Frozen Hydrangea
The first day of 2014!
I had it in mind to photograph something white today, but I think I should be waiting for tomorrow, when a big Nor'easter is forecast to blow in with around 10" of snow.
Something about this old, dried up hydrangea flower lying frozen into the ice on our pool cover looked both pathetic and poetic. If I were more talented, I would compose a haiku for it...
Update: Thanks to multi-talented blipper, scribbler for this beautiful haiku she wrote to accomopany the photograph:
transformed to paleness
held fast by blue ice, white frost
hydrangea poses
