Pleasant manners
I guess it could have been his answer to the fireworks last night.
Angie again providing the photo during a walk as far away from people as possible with Luna in heat and Flash having a very bad case of the Heebie-Jeebies with the fireworks still being set off from time to time and the hunters seemingly using the general noise to be very active. The main deer hunting season is coming to an end this month, partly on 15th and 31st. Not only will Flash be happy!
We may now know why there seemed to be so much fireworks in our village nad even close to our property although this has not happened in the last 12 years. Yesterday the firebrigade were called out twice in the afternoon. In the first case a carpentry business in nearby Erkheim went up in smoke, in particular a sawdust silo. 250 firemen were needed so all local brigades called out. While this was happening the alarms went off again and the ambulances shot past us on their way to Sontheim. Two local lads were driving over an unmanned railway line and perhaps oversaw the blinking lights due to the sun, They were both thrown out of the car and died. It took until today until one body could be identified due to the force of the collision - the train was going at 120km/h. A large fireworks party in Sontheim was cancelled and I suspect many residents came over to our village to shoot their fireworks as it is forbidden to do so except on New Years Eve & Day.
So not a good start locally and on my bee journal I have had to come to terms with the second colony not surviving. It can only get better.
I hope all Blipers had a better start!
