Last night I wasn't able to enjoy the firework display of our better off neighbors since the trees were not trimmed thus blocking our view. What a downer. But today I overheard someone from the office saying there was a firework show at the neighboring city, so on a "deliberate" whim, if there is such thing, I asked my sister and cousin to come and watch with me. But another hurdle I had to tackle was my impatience, we waited for almost an hour for it to start. I almost convinced my cousin to just drive us back. But when the moment finally came and we heard the first burst of "ohhhh's" and "aahhhhs" of the people also waiting around, all the sleepiness faded and turned to cheer.

Lesson: You can find your own opportunities but don't let impatience ruin it for you. You may have the power to choose but know that not everything can be controlled. And as cheesy as this might get, it's something I believe in: "He has made everything beautiful in its time."

May this be a year of fearless pursuits for our dreams and a year of faith-filled patience for the things He has yet to unfold. Happy New Year!
