Wet Start to a New Year
Anyone who has travelled from the Isle of Wight to Southampton on the car ferry will recognise this area of East Cowes.
The heavy rain started in the early hours adding to the already saturated ground which together with a high tide has caused this flooding. Hopefully the Fire Brigade will manage to stop the water from overflowing into properties.
Unfortunately the rain is set to continue for several hours yet with worries about tomorrows high tide and gale force winds putting the Island on Yellow Alert.
Not the best of starts to a new year. I am thankful to live at the top of a hill where we just have the wind to contend with.
A Happy New Year to all.
