Eddy as in Steady
An early blipmeet with Ben today for a walk along my "one street" to find a "human" to join my "humans of the high street" collection and the growing collection of 'strangers' on camera 1 of the 'when you're a stranger' project.
Sound clip!
Spotted this. Love a challenge.
It was a lovely way to begin my year and the third year of photographing something every day; spending time with someone who is happy to talk about lenses, blipping habits and tripods. We were also very lucky with the weather as it just started to rain as we got back in our cars as is now raining heavily.
Slightly saddened that I hadn't known about the hunt that was happening today in my one street. (I thought that was on boxing day) One for my diary next year.
I wasn't going to blip my 'stranger' subject but I preferred this to the other shots I took this morning. I have no intention of moving far for the rest of the day either. Eddy , my stranger, thought that Ben and I were Polish (perhaps we did look a bit 'tourist like' as we looked at a church spire from the middle of the road with our cameras. Or perhaps it was the hat?)
I have actually seen Eddy about quite a bit on my one street before, although I have never spoken to him. He told me that he has lived in Maldon for a number of years and that he likes it here. He enjoys photography himself but doesn't have a camera at the moment. He lost his partner a few years ago. He volunteers (his hi viz had 'volunteer' printed on it). He is known to the police, but not in a bad way (there were a number of officers about due to the hunt)
I have told him that I will let him have a print of my picture when I see him next. I am glad that I chose Eddy and think he appreciated the chat. He was a very obliging subject; hopefully the 'scary film shot' will be OK too.
As it is also the first day of DDW's January Challenge, my photo is in black and white, for a slightly tenuous link to the theme for the day (if it hadn't been very windy, the colour of my own 'scared' face would have been the link).
