First walk of 2014

I was hoping to catch the first sunrise of 2014 to complement my picture from yesterday. However, the sky was dark and grey this morning. We still went out for an early morning walk and listened to the quiet as most people were still fast asleep after last night's celebrations. We enjoyed a walk over the fields and through the woods and past the local village church. I'm very motivated to get out and enjoy the beauty and the fresh air of the outdoors when I know I'm going to spend much of the rest of the day cooped up with a couple of hundred other people in a metal tube! We timed this walk perfectly as it started to rain just as were finishing the walk.
