Welcoming the new year

Luckily no work for me on the first of January so I can welcome in the new year with a drink. A nice drop of whisky seems an appropriate order of the day.
No party for us this year but a nice evening to round off a great festive season and a very good 2013. I had planned to stay up until midnight to welcome in the year but having been up since 4:30am for work that didn't quite happen so I had my tipple roughly with Egyptian new year.
Still Luke woke up at 23:50 so I snuck a peek at some fireworks whilst he had a nappy change. Not that rock n roll I know, but this is a man who got not one but two pairs of pyjamas* for Christmas, what did you expect.
