Fairy-lit cat

There are fairy lights in the hall. And a cat. Whisky now prefers the hall rather than any cushion beside me or Fred. I think this is what we call A Huff. He's being a bit Jekyll and Hyde with us - dribbling one moment then turning his back once he remembers that we left him for a few days.

Today is the Mid-Birthday - the day between my birthday (yesterday) and Fred's (tomorrow), so we declared this a double-birthday day. Thus we played computer games, ate a lot, and Fred enjoyed a bike run while I read a book and lazed about.

In the evening, we watched the funny and lovely, if tense, black-and-white film The Girl on the Bridge about a knife thrower (Daniel Auteuil) and a beautiful young lady (Vanessa Paradis). Fred bowed out early due to the nail-biting (literally) knife-throwing scenes. I stuck it out and I'm pleased to say it had a happy ending. Only one person ended up in hospital due to the knife-throwing, but luck wasn't on her side.
