bella warming up with a hot chocolate in her new mug after a chilly trip to the park.

we've just put the kids to bed after a mini new years eve party involving musical statues, musical bumps and musical witches (don't ask), a countdown to 'midnight' and a sweetie. about as exciting as our hogmany is going to get, save for a date with jackie bird, if we make it until then.

so the end of a year of changes for us: new baby, new house, new area, new school, new job. the first half of the year felt very uncertain in lots of ways, but we've settled into our new home and country living and are loving it. and of course sam is a joy.

my family are in relatively good health, my sister has just moved down the road, and g is about to start a new job, so i'm feeling like 2014 is starting on a very positive note indeed.
